I’m often asked if someone has to be a medium to talk to their loved ones in Spirit and how best to understand their messages and what they are trying to say. If we think logically, we all come from Spirit and go back to Spirit, so technically, we’re all mediums! That said, not everyone is open to this concept, and not everyone chooses mediumship as their life path.
Mediumship is a natural ability and skill that can be honed through intense training and professional development. Let’s face it; not everyone wants to be a professional medium and communicate messages from the Spirit world. Why? Although being a medium can be a rewarding and exciting career, it can also be a journey riddled with self-doubt and fear. Much of this results from misrepresenting psychics and mediums through the media and ridicule from people who don’t believe in Spirit or psychic abilities.
However, not working as a medium, or considering yourself a medium, doesn’t mean you won’t be able to sense or understand when your loved ones in Spirit are sending signs and messages to you. You have to be open to how they communicate with you and feel into their impressions. You can also initiate communication with your loved ones in Spirit; you don’t have to wait for them to reach out to you.
You can ask your loved ones to send you signs!
I was unaware that I was a medium in the making for many years. I had no idea that my loved ones who had passed into Spirit were trying to communicate with me through synchronicity and signs. The kind of stuff that I could not make up! I would hear a song on the radio that reminded me of them. I’d then glance at the clock only to see their date of birth and notice subtle energy changes in the air. Together, these signs were telling me something: that my loved ones were trying to communicate with me and let me know they were around me!
Spirit is clever and creative when communicating
It’s up to us to be open to learning the language of Spirit and know what to look out for. Spirit manipulates physical things to get your attention. For example, moving things around your house, flickering lights on and off, playing a particular song on the radio and adjusting clocks to display specific numbers all at the same time. They can also impress feelings and thoughts onto you and use your mind to communicate with you. With time and practice, you’ll learn to differentiate what thoughts are theirs and which are yours.
It can take a little time to work out Spirit’s language.
The most important thing is that you remain open to the process and trust that what you are feeling and seeing is your loved one communicating with you through different mediums. Not necessarily a medium like myself, but through mediums such as technology and physical signs such as feathers, coins, and other various objects.
I feel such immense joy and excitement when Spirit communicates with me. I hope that you also experience the joy of hearing and speaking with your loved ones in Spirit through you.
Remember, you don’t have to be a medium or seek a medium to communicate with Spirit!
