“Lightworker. I love the simplicity of this word as I play it repeatedly in my mind. The humbleness of it speaks to me, calling me to service.”
There are many characteristics of a Lightworker, and a sure way of knowing you are one is this simple fact; that you’ve always felt there was more to your life than what you are living right now, that you are more. In fact, you’ve probably prayed for it to be true as you meandered through the haphazardness of what you know as your life. Not from a place of ego and wanting to big-note yourself, but simply from a place of ‘deep knowing’ that there is more to you than meets the eye.
Well, that’s your soul, your higher self calling out to you, saying, “Hey (insert your name)… remember who you are because it’s time for you to pick up the torch and contribute to creating change”.
No pressure, right?
But wait, first, what is a Lightworker?
Lightworker is undoubtedly a word that is used a lot nowadays. It may be a concept that is new to you or that you already resonate with. Perhaps it’s a term you don’t even like because it has become so popular. Either way, there is no denying it has special meaning to those who are here to bring about change in the world and resonate with this word’s frequency.
Lightworkers are here to have the human experience of servicing humanity – although they may not always realize it. This essential role was a path their soul chose before conception, a decision that brings them here to help heal the planet through our current times.
Each Lightworker has a sacred mission and purpose, and it will be a path that resonates deeply with their heart, so profoundly that they may experience it as a feeling of something missing from their life if they are not doing it. Never entirely putting their finger on it – until they discover what it is and ‘know’ that it is ‘right’ for them beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Lightworkers are often attracted to spirituality and personal growth and align with the concept of helping others in some way. The modality they choose to facilitate their caring roles can manifest in various ways, such as healers, intuitives, spiritual teachers, counsellors, psychologies, coaches, artists, musicians, writers, carers, volunteers, nurses, and doctors, to name a few.
In truth, I believe everyone on the planet was born with the potential of Lightwork in some way. It is simply a matter of remembering One’s true power, unbounded with unique purpose and possibility.
Does this sound like it could be you?
If this article resonates with you, if your heart and intuition urge you toward the Lightworker’s path, you can be sure that this is a part of your soul’s plan and not your imagination. Over the last decade, a spiritual call-out has been transmitted into the frequency of the planet, asking us to awaken to our healing roles as Lightworkers.
Those who listen to this tread their path with a mixture of feelings, surrendering to the invitation to do the self-work, rise, and be of service in whatever way aligns with their heart.
Others hear the call yet choose to keep their head in the sand, too frozen by old beliefs to step up to the challenge.
I get it, and I can certainly relate to this old fear. The Lightworkers’ path is challenging, and because I fell onto my pathway sideways and slightly messy, it took me a long time to feel qualified to join this collective soiree of powerful humans.
Once I fully committed, though, my path took on a life of its own. Opportunities I would never have dreamed of opened for me in succession. Giving breath to the truth that we are all guided by a higher power, and if we trust it, our life magically unfolds for us—only failing in our mission if we don’t step up to the starting line in the first place.
And no, we don’t have to be perfect at it. That would be boring, so be as messy as your path needs you to be.
