Have you ever asked yourself this question? Have you ever thought about it? Some of you may say yes and nod, some may take a few moments to think about it, and others may be asking, ‘What exactly do you mean what story am I telling myself?’.
I would have been in the last category. That is until I began my spiritual journey and started to heal and be more aware of myself, my energy and my life What I mean by ‘story’ is what is it that you continuously, daily, or very often say to yourself. This could be in your thoughts or conversations with others. Your words, when repeated often, are potent. They could be positive or negative, sad or joyful etc. So not only are they words, but they will be accompanied by an emotion that affects your energy and will create either a low or higher vibration. Think about a person who complains a lot or a happy person who talks about the positive things in their life. You will feel a different energy from them, but you will also most probably be able to see how their life reflects their language choices and what they focus on. I see this with clients, relating to all different areas of their lives and their relationships with themselves and others. It could be about time management, self-love, self-worth, victim mentality, plus many more. Most of which interconnect with each other.
All of this will stem from childhood, creating patterns in your behaviour and language. Many clients I have, say, ‘I just don’t have enough time,’ or ‘I don’t have any time for myself/to do the things I want or ‘nothing ever works out for me’. Upon bringing this to their attention, they realise how often they say it throughout the day and to others and how their life reflects that. You see, your thoughts and words are constantly cocreating with universal energy. Whatever you put out is received by the Universe, and it will match your energy and respond in kind. It is similar to the saying ‘You get what you give. The difference here is that it is about the language you are using. The Universe does not distinguish between positive and negative in your words; it simply responds to the vibration of what it hears. For example, if you repeat ‘I do not want to be robbed’, the Universe does not interpret the ‘do not. As fear and low frequency are attached to that thought, the Universe will match that. Therefore, very likely for that to play out as a thief also has a low frequency. It is the Universal law of attraction.
So when you repeat things repeatedly, the Universe hears and says, ‘let’s give her/him more of that.’ And you will be presented with situations and scenarios where you can experience what you are putting out. Changing the story you tell yourself is not easy as it ties in with many of your childhood experiences and traumas. Therefore, it is essential to find out ‘why’ you get stuck in these stories.
Forensic Healing helped me find the when and why of the stories I was telling myself and painfully living. It gave me the awareness to be able to heal and connect, removing the imprint of those experiences so that I could rewrite my own story from an empowered state of being.
To change your story, you may begin with the following basic steps:
- Be aware of your thoughts and words.
- Talk your thoughts out loud when you are alone. This can be a real eye-opener to how negative your thoughts may be. Understand when it started and why you use specific language. For example, it may be used as a procrastination tool, or so that you don’t have time to do things for yourself and stay in that cycle of voicing complaints, it could be so that you get attention or sympathy etc.
- Ask family or friends for honest feedback on your conversations. Only do this if you are prepared to hear things you may not like or may hurt a little.
- Heal traumas, programming and conditioning.
- Tell the Universe what you DO want.
(Please be aware that some of these steps may require an energy practitioner, especially if you want a more profound and life-changing experience that is long-lasting.)
Hopefully, having a clearer awareness of how your thoughts and words affect your experiences and life and the power they have as they co-create with the Universe makes you realise the powerful being you are. You have the power to turn things around. Sure, there may be many facets to work on, but the more you begin to understand how you and your energy works, and how Universal law works and how Healing yourself can help you align it all and propel you on a path of empowerment, the more strength you find to continue to discover your truth and what you came to experience. Your story, your way.
So tell me, are you happily living the story you are telling yourself? Or is it time to rewrite it and create a more fulfilling life?
