The third chakra, Manipura (also known as the solar plexus chakra), is the home of your inner fire. It is the centre of your divine spark, personal power, and identity. Your inner fire gives you the passion and energy to fuel your dreams and desires.
But before we continue, would you like to take a moment to visualise your inner fire?
Close your eyes and focus on the third chakra, located in the upper abdomen two inches above your navel. Do you feel a deep, burning warmth, or is there an emptiness or lack of feeling at this source? Whether the flames are burning bright or whether the embers are just faintly glowing, being aware of the state of your inner fire will bring you back in touch with yourself.
Being in touch with yourself enables you to rekindle your flame, turning your inner fire into an endless source of energy.
The location of your third chakra and inner fire is what makes it a link to your upper and lower chakras. When your inner fire is not adequately fuelled, Manipura energy becomes blocked, and your higher functions are compromised. We will struggle to connect with our intuition, creativity, and capacity to love. Being disconnected from our inner fire will feel like weariness with life. You will become easily distracted and detached and no longer feel like you belong with others or that you have a connection with the world around you.
Reconnecting with your inner fire requires you to leave your mind and enter body awareness. Meditation and yoga can be helpful because these practices allow you to focus on the feelings in your physical self rather than your mental self. Staying in a feeling space, connecting with that inner fire or gut feeling, can help us find the answers we are looking for while bringing awareness to our passion. Our bodies send us important messages, but we must learn how to listen. When we listen and connect with our body by honouring the warmth in our third chakra, we breathe life back into our inner fire.
Awareness of your inner fire and keeps you connected with it so you can stay motivated, passionate, inspired, and consciously work every day on achieving your soul’s goals. Your inner fire will warm your heart and keep you connected with love, helping you to love more openly and generously. You will be able to rise above negative voices, both internal and external ones, that attempt to convince you that you are not worthy of all you desire.
To be truly connected with your inner fire, you must consciously decide to create the life you want. Working towards your goals and desires forces you to seek alignment in all areas of your life. There is no longer room to spend energy serving anyone or anything that does not spark you with purpose and joy. Connecting with your inner fire will bring to light the dysfunctional sides of our lives and force us to rethink our approach. This conflict can be challenging to confront but, taking the time to keep your fire burning bright and beautiful will give you the strength you need to overcome all obstacles on your true path.
Take these steps to reconnect with your inner fire and begin your journey of greater fulfilment:
Stoke your fire – Spend quiet time getting outside of your head and into that feeling space. Connect with the warmth in your third chakra and identify what your fire needs. Now concentrate on bringing the focus and attention onto yourself. Feel your body and listen to it.
Feed your fire – Take the time to do nourishing activities and spend time with loved ones, this is what you need to keep your fire burning strong and ignite your passion. Regularly take the time to do the creative and inspiring things that you love to do.
Guard your fire – Setting boundaries is essential to keeping your inner fire burning bright. When you allow people to cross your limits, you deprive your fire of space and oxygen, threatening to extinguish it. Listen to how your body reacts when your boundaries are threatened and learn to say “no”.
Nurture your fire – Our busy lives can easily pull us away from what will ultimately make us happy. When this happens, spending time listening to how we feel, it is much easier to steer ourselves in the right direction.
