“One of the ways to make the biggest difference in your overall health and well-being is to repair the holes in your energy field.” ― Catherine Carrigan
Everything that exists is energy, and every living thing, whether that be plant, animal, or human, is surrounded with its own energy field. This is called an aura. Its various layers surround our body, connections us to our individual consciousness, and acts like a sponge, absorbing and transforming various forms of energy that it meets.
It’s appearance, and how far it expands, depends on our quality of physical health, mental attitudes, and spiritual development.
Seeing and Reading the Aura
The aura holds an incredible wealth of information about who we are; information about our past (past lives included), present, future, as well as an innate connection to the wisdom of our soul. We all have the ability to tune into the auric field and ‘read’ the energy that is contained there. It is simply a matter of allowing ourselves to open to our innate gifts and practice, allowing this ability to strengthen over time.
As you begin, you may not ‘see’ the aura with your physically eyes and it may come across as more of a sense. As your ‘sight’ into the auric field expands though, information can be received and represented by colour and a psychic awareness. The information that will come through, can depict someone’s mood, current problems, highlight disturbances, blockages, illness in the aura, and so much more.
Here Are Some Great Exercises to Start With
Experience the energy between your hands: Bring the palm of your hands together and begin rubbing them. Now pull them apart, and then slowly move them back together again. You should be able to feel the friction of energy between your hands, this is your aura. When you’ve become apt at this, practice with a friend.
See your aura in the mirror: Stand in front of a mirror, making sure you have a plain background behind you. Looking at the outline of your body, relax and soften your gaze, allowing your eyes to go slightly out of focus. Do you see a grey haze around your body? This will be the first layer of your auric field.
Try it with a friend: Get a friend to stand in front of a plain background. Like you did in the mirror with yourself, look at the
outline of their body and relax your gaze and allow it to go out of focus. Can you see the first layer of their auric field?
Expand your awareness: Expand your skills by tuning into the energy field around your friend. Trusting your intuition, what colours do you ‘perceive’ in their aura? What information is dropping into your awareness? Share this with your sitter. Does it make sense to them? Remember, the information may come through faintly at first and don’t discard anything, even if they say they can’t make sense of it at the time.
Aura reading can be as simple or as advanced as you would like it to be. Let this be a great start to your knowledge base as you lean into expanding your innate gifts and abilities in this way.
Although we’ve only delved into the surface of what is possible, learning to read aura’s is a great contribution to your spiritual tool kit, and an impactful way to help the person you are reading get clear on their path and any challenges they may be face in their life.
