Mystic, medium, healer, teacher, and founder of the Ieria Mystery School, Tina Orfanos is a woman who loves exploring all the different parts of herself. While the inspiration behind that is to change her own world first. She is also a believer of integrating deep spiritual growth so she can be the best version of herself to teach the people she touches the same principles of healing.
She has travelled through the messiness and ugliness of life and journeyed deep into painful soul lessons around sexual abuse and poor body image. All so that she can learn to shine and stand tall with confidence despite it all.
Now, through the gift of her own experiences, Tina has awakened with a passion to change the lives of others by awakening them into a life that is fully aligned with the best version of themselves from a soul perspective.
It takes many lights to brighten the world, and Tina Orfanos is certainly one of them.
“When it’s your time for your spiritual pathway and we are always on a spiritual pathway, just do it”
Kim: Who is Tina Orfanos in her own words?
Tina: What a loaded question! I am everything and nothing. I have found that from wanting to people-please throughout my whole life and becoming everything else that everyone else wanted, I was not me. I had to find my own centre and worthiness to become the person that I am. Today I’m a mystic, a medium, a fur mama, I’m going to be someone’s wife and I am really happy to be on this journey. When I say that I’m everything and nothing, what I mean is that I’m part of every single one of the people that I’m connected with, the world, the universe and everything else. Yet I am my own self, and I am nothing. Sometimes I feel that this world was actually made for people like us, in order for us to discover ourselves and I’m still discovering brand new aspects of myself. I’m like “it’s another part of Tina yay”. It’s a beautiful discovery.
Kim: You’ve had to go through a tremendous amount of healing to get to where you are now. Are you happy to share that part of yourself with us?
Tina: I guess what it comes down to, is the things that your soul chooses to go through when you come into this lifetime. I think that I was sitting up there with my book of life and I was like “I want to go through sexual abuse, homelessness, emotionally unavailable parents, massive body image issues and to having a really messy spiritual awakening.
Through all of that, it’s us discovering who we are as a soul and our connection to spirit. Who we’re meant to be and how we are going to be of service.
I have always been aware of light and darkness because my first question to my parents was not “Where do babies come from?” but “What’s the difference between white and black magic?”—true story.
I could always see into people. I knew who was legit and who wasn’t, so my meter was on, and that made me feel very much alone.
I was born into a dysfunctional family, like a lot of us; however, our dysfunctionality came from having either gone through feast or famine. We did really well at some points, and then at other points, we would have to pack up everything because we would be getting evicted from our place. That led me to growing up in the fashion industry and not being a perfect size 10, so I grew up with a lot of body image issues.
Kim: What aspect of your past was the hardest to overcome from a human perspective?
Tina: From a human perspective, definitely the sexual abuse. I was sexually abused when I was nine, and I remember feeling very lost because there was that loss of trust. I was a very strong little girl, and that strong little girl got scared because my abuser was always trying to scare me. When I was five years old, he would swing me over a mountain and ask me, “Are you scared yet?”
After many years of healing, I realized that everything that he had done up until that point was because he wanted to make me feel afraid because he was so afraid. Then and it was only recently (at 52 years old) that I saw his spirit coming through, but it wasn’t him because he’s still alive, and he said, “You’ve taken the darkness out of yourself. Can you please help me do the same thing”. That’s when I knew that I was no longer afraid of being in that room. My thoughts would always take me back into, where I was abused.
That led to not wanting to be seen, so I would eat a litre of connoisseur ice cream every night so that people wouldn’t see me, what my worth was or who I was as a soul. It was so easy.
But you know what, spirit can see you because you’re always connected. So they will send through circumstances that you need to thrive through, so that you can learn to be seen and face the fear you’ve been running from. That’s what I used to do and I couldn’t do that to my soul anymore, because that was so destroying.
I could only face a little bit of a fear at a time and that was okay because healing comes in so many freaking layers. So, you turn around and face your demons and you face who you are as a soul. You turn around and you go, “No more” and when you do that, that’s when your healing will begin and you will find yourself.
Kim: What do you still feel challenged by presently?
Tina: Sometimes I feel that humanity should be at a different point than where they are at at the moment, and what challenges me and what inspires me is the same thing. Humanity’s ability to be kind and bad to one another, it astounds me. Humans living in this world should be kinder to one another, they should have more compassion and they don’t. That really frustrates me. Then it also inspires me because there’s beautiful human beings, that go through things and despite all odds, will rise and they will turn things around for themselves no matter what happens.
Humans living in this world should be kinder to one another, they should have more compassion.
Kim: Do you believe that your past led you into the work that you do now, and do you believe it is your purpose?
Tina: Totally and utterly, because if it wasn’t for my past, I wouldn’t be here right now. There wouldn’t be a reason for me to do the work I’m doing right now. This does not happen by mistake. I’m here to be of service, and my work is really important to me.
My service to spirit and to my tribe that’s what I’m here for.
Kim: So let’s talk about your work. What do you do, and how do you help people?
Tina: I help people go through their own spiritual awakening and the awakening of their own gifts. I’ve become the mentor that I’ve always wanted to be. I’ve had so many mentors, from mediumship to healing, to light language, to shadow work. But I never had the one mentor who could actually do all of those things. So now I’m running my very own mystery school and I take people through their own inner journey. Whether or not they want to become a medium, a psychic, a healer or they want to explore the mystic part of themselves. It’s a remembering of who you are as a soul because we have forgotten who we are and how amazing and spectacular we are.
We are here to lead an epic life.
Kim: What advice do you have for someone needing to step up on their own path?
Tina: Just do it. Don’t put it on the back burner because that’s what I used to do. I used to say, “Oh, when my parents are okay”, “When I lose some weight”, “When my job allows me to”, “When I have the funds”.
When it’s your time for your spiritual pathway and we are always on a spiritual pathway, just do it, face your demons. Reach out and find to your tribe. The people who are mystics, who have gone through stuff. In finding that, you can rediscover yourself and you will know this because it will feel right within you.
Kim: Last question, Tina. What is your Fierce Truth?
