Being fully self-expressed is a powerful state of being where we share ourselves, unapologetically, with the world. It’s a journey of embracing our true essence and breaking free from societal and generational conditioning.
But how do we become more fully self-expressed? Here are five steps that can help you to live a life aligned with your fully expressed self:
- Self-Awareness.
To be more fully self-expressed, it is essential to cultivate self-awareness. This is always the first key to creating change. We must take the time to explore our inner world, the so-called good, bad and ugly. Our light and our shadow. Practices such as journaling, meditation, or engaging a life coach can help us to gain deeper insights into the wholeness of who we truly are.
These tools allow us to observe how we react in different situations and give us the awareness to explore any patterns or limiting beliefs that may be holding us back. By understanding ourselves better, we can break free from any conditioned responses and align our actions with our authentic self.
- Authenticity.
Authenticity is the cornerstone of self-expression. When we can embrace our true self without the need for approval or validation from others, we are free! When we show up authentically, we inspire others to do the same, which in turn creates much deeper connections and intimacy with those around us.
Practice this by letting go of the masks you wear to fit in with the expectations of others and, instead, embrace your unique qualities. You’ll likely find that the things you consider ‘weird’ about you are the very things your soul tribe will love the most.
- Creativity.
Creativity is a powerful form of self-expression. We can cultivate this by engaging in activities that allow us to explore our creative sides. Find what resonates for you, whether it’s painting, writing, dancing, singing, making music, or something else. When you were younger, what did you love to do? The activities we were drawn to as a child are often clues as to how we are designed to express ourselves in life.
Let go of any need to be ‘perfect’ and simply embrace creativity for the pleasure and joy that it brings.
- Courage and Vulnerability.
There’s no question that being fully self-expressed requires courage and vulnerability. It means stepping out of our comfort zone and sharing our authentic self, even when it feels very uncomfortable or uncertain. Embrace the fear of judgment and rejection, knowing that your sacred self-expression is far more important than others’ opinions.
Practice by expressing yourself in small ways each day. Start by sharing your opinions in conversations when you’d usually stay quiet. Try initiating new activities with friends or your partner. Ask for what you actually need and want in life. Gradually expand your comfort zone and take bigger leaps of self-expression – it doesn’t all have to happen at once!
- Soul Tribe.
Find or create a supportive network of people who appreciate and encourage your authentic self-expression. Those who celebrate who you rather than try to dim you down to make them feel more comfortable. Seek out communities, workshops, or online groups that align with your interests and values.
A supportive environment allows you to express yourself freely without fear of judgment, fostering personal growth and self-confidence.
Ultimately, becoming more fully self-expressed is a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. By cultivating self-awareness, embracing authenticity, expressing yourself creatively, and embracing vulnerability, you can unlock the power of your true essence. Remember that sacred self-expression is an ongoing journey, and each step you take brings you closer to living a life aligned with who you truly are at your core. May this serve as an invitation to embrace your wonderful uniqueness and share your beautiful light with the world.
