“Every season is one of becoming, but not always one of blooming. Be gracious with your ever-evolving self.” — B. Oakman
As well as honouring the seasons of the earth, we should also recognise that we have seasons within ourselves. It’s so important that we trust our own seasons because we each have our own path to weave, our own life to create. So, this is a little reminder my love, that you are right on time, you are exactly where you are meant to be. Don’t let the world fool you with all its pressure, “Hurry up…it’s too late.” Take a moment, take a deep breath and see.
My invitation, my love, is to press pause by slowing down. Make yourself a cup of tea, while sitting with some of the following contemplations. Reflect on the season you’re in, with the wisdom your season wants to share with you.
Summer
Imagine you’re standing in a meadow with the wind blowing and the sun shining. You can feel the energy of summer – the warmth, the bigness, seeing the flowers sway, hearing the rustling of the trees.
Summer is breathing life in through your whole body, she reminds you of the power that you are, she is the giver of life, joy and optimism. Her energy is in full bloom.
Are you in the season of Summer?
Are you ready to take action on a vision, a dream that has been in your heart for a while?
If so, what would that action be at this moment?
Where is the sun shining its focus to show you what needs your attention to grow, bringing your power and energy?
Is your energy vibrating high? Where is it wanting to go?
Autumn
Imagine you’re in a beautiful forest, the air is a little cold, the leaves are falling as you walk. You’re kicking the leaves, feeling them crumple under your feet, hearing the sound and reminiscing the old days.
Autumn energy is just starting to come back. The days are drawing closer, bringing back the energy to allow the contemplation of what has just been created. Allowing the energy of the old to die and the new to have the grace to be.
Are you in the season of Autumn?
Are you feeling a little slower?
Have some things naturally come to an end? If so, what are they, what are you now making space for?
What are the golden threads that have led you to this point?
Take an audit of the year, and see where you have grown, and how far you have come.
Are you ready for a new chapter? If so, what lessons and learnings can you take from the past?
Winter
Imagine you are wrapped up in your favourite winter coat, walking in snow-covered fields, feeling the coldness of your skin, seeing the air you breathe as steam. The trees are now bare – bearing their limbs to the world.
Winter is all about slowing down, releasing, being in stillness, hibernating, planting our seeds for the future, giving ourselves permission to allow the old to die, without fear of what we are losing knowing that spring will come and all will bloom again, in a newness that has never been felt before.
Are you in the season of winter?
What are you ready to let go of to allow the truth of who you are to rise?
What would you love to plant as a seed, a vision for yourself for the following seasons to flourish?
What are we willing to release to create space for what is needed in your life right now?
Are you needing space for yourself to just be?
What is your body needing today?
Spring
Imagine the mornings are getting lighter, the days warmer, it’s like feeling a new lease of life with each breath of the morning air, the birds are chirping. Everything is waking up to a new day – bringing the pure joy of spring after a long winter.
In Spring the garden comes alive, the bees will come, the trees allow new leaves to take the place of the old, and each flower will blossom in its own perfect time, it’s a time of newness, rebirth, faith and creation.
Are you in the season of spring?
Do you have lots of creative ideas that you want to pursue? If so, what is needed to bring them to fruition?
Is there something that requires you to grow in a certain area?
Are you finding you have all the joy in your being and just want to share it with others?
Are you full of energy ready to share with the world?
“To the attentive eye, each moment of the year has its own beauty, and in the same field, it beholds, every hour, a picture which was never seen before, and which shall never be seen again.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
