Receiving energetic healings such as Reiki, Forensic Healing and other therapies can open up a new world for you. They bring awareness of the past and present through understanding people, situations, and lessons to be learned. Through this, you can have growth, evolution, and wisdom through the process of accepting and integrating all this newness.
Healing occurs when we choose to face the events that have affected us on a deep emotional level, including physical trauma. Although, if we break it all down, we are all affected physically. Even when there is no physical abuse and it is on an emotional level, your organs, systems, and physical being is affected due to your stress and emotional imbalances. You may also be in a pattern of self-sabotage through food, substance abuse or continued toxic relationships. These can affect you on both a physical and emotional level.
Due to your individual life experiences, and how you process and integrate your lessons, healing journeys vary greatly. But they also can have many similarities. A big healing journey is your relationship with yourself and others. It involves being aware of how you have been affected by situations in your life, and dealing with all the different emotions that arise. This can be quite a feat, but is very achievable and definitely well worth it.
Healing can be both a rewarding and difficult process at times. And whether you are living with others or on your own, both have advantages and disadvantages. For example, if you live alone, you may long to have someone living with you to be able to support you through your journey, especially during the lonely and emotional periods. That is not to say that you are not getting the support you need from others. It can just simply be hard at times, when you are completely on your own.
But what happens when you are on a healing and spiritual journey and living in an environment with others, be it family, friends or just roommates? Well, drawing from my own experience as a wife and mother, it can be tough! Especially if you are the only one on a healing journey. It can also be difficult when others in your environment, or everybody, is on their own healing path. There are many different reasons why this is so.
Some challenges you may experience while you are healing in a shared environment:
- Feeling like no one understands you.
- Becoming frustrated, agitated, sad or depressed.
- Feeling alone and isolated due to what is going on internally.
- Feeling as if you are the only one making the effort and doing all the work in relationships.
- Finding it hard to put your needs first or having time alone.
- Feeling misunderstood, disconnected and/or not on the same page as others.
- Everybody is on a different part of their journey, therefore triggering each other.
- Triggers may be due to everyone working on different aspects of their own selves and their behaviours. Often people are learning and growing at different rates, and just plainly having to deal with their own “stuff”.
- Lack of emotional support.
- Growing apart.
Benefits you may experience while healing in a shared environment:
- Having someone to talk to, face to face.
- Having emotional support.
- Feeling safe and understood.
- Growing and evolving with others on similar journeys, therefore, understanding each other.
- Having others’ positivity lift you up.
- Not feeling lonely.
- Becoming more intuitive and closer with those you live with due to shared experiences.
- Raised frequency and harmony.
It is important to:
- Be aware that everyone is doing their best with the tools they have, including you.
- Communicate. Let others know if you are having a bad day or feeling out of sorts. They will have more awareness, not take things personally and give you space.
- Question yourself. For example, “Why am I being triggered by this person or situation?” Look for the answers within.
- Do not be dragged into or feed people’s dramas.
- Set boundaries.
- Have family meetings. Each member gets to speak uninterrupted. Use a “talking stick” if necessary.
For those of you living on your own or living with others and being the only one on a healing spiritual journey, you may also experience the abovementioned challenges and benefits. Challenges are usually felt more in the beginning, or amplified if those around you do not share your beliefs around energy healings. They may also ease as you become more aligned with yourself and your life.
I have been through healing journeys both on my own and in a shared environment, and have found that it was easier to cope through the most difficult parts whilst living with others. The truth is that due to your own uniqueness, only you can discover which environment you prefer and is best for you. The common denominator here is that we all strive to learn, grow, and evolve to be the best we can be. We choose to receive energetic healings and do the self-work to heal from our traumas, unlearn conditioning and break the cycles.
A huge part of this healing journey is also to become more connected with ourselves and others.
We do this by expanding our awareness, intuition, and the emotions of love, empathy, and compassion, which we all seek during our healing periods. Whilst we would all love to be able to go through the challenges of this journey in a safe, loving, and emotionally supportive environment, unfortunately, this is not always possible. But we can learn and do our best to provide that space for ourselves and others.
All this can be achieved when you give and receive with love and empathy in your heart.
