After working for many years as a professional medium, and teaching many students to connect to their own spirit-speaking abilities, I began to understand that we all have the ability to know Spirit and in fact, communicate with them. So I’ve decided to hang out with our readers and talk about what spirit experiences that they’ve had in their lives. Let’s see what Subendri has to say.
Kim: What role does Spirit play in your life?
Subendri: It’s an everyday experience. I’m more or less guided to whatever I need to do for the day. Sometimes I ignore the signs because my mind is too busy being busy, and I just don’t see how things need to pan out. But all in all, Spirit plays a huge part in whatever I’m doing.
Kim: Can you share an example with us?
Subendri: I went through a huge breakup about seven years ago. I was all over the place and I also had to go for therapy to repair my knee. I had always practised meditation, and I would get up at 3 am and say “Okay what messages are you giving me today?” I got this message that I need to start telling a children’s story. I started journaling and the story started developing, and I got a title for a book. The message was “You’re a teacher, you’re a healer, you need to write a book and it needs to be about children”. So I went with the flow.
It was 2014, I was listening to a Hay House podcast, and they were talking about how there was a need for more children’s books. I downloaded it, and a few days later I got an email saying thank you for listening to our podcast, I hope you enjoyed it. If you’re interested in publishing with us, please let us know. I ignored that email, and I got another email. Then I was like “Yeah, maybe I should look into doing this”. A guy called me up and we had a chat, and he loved the idea for my book. He told me the pricing which I didn’t have at that stage. I said to Spirit, “Listen you guys, you keep telling me to do things, and you keep asking me to go forward on this path that I’m on. Where am I supposed to get this money from?”
I had a personal loan that I had taken out quite some time back, and I thought “It’s not really the time period within which to ask for a top-up”. So I said, “Let me throw caution to the wind” and I gave them a call. Next thing, the woman said, “Yes we can give you this amount”, and I burst into tears because it was the exact amount that I needed to pay for the book.
Kim: How do you feel your communication with spirit works?
Subendri: Initially I wasn’t that in tune with receiving messages. Whereas when I did a channelling workshop, it helped me with discipline in how I would get myself into that space to hear spirit. Then last year, I upskilled in a way in which I can receive messages and how I interact with spirit. Now the messages that I get from people are so spot on.
It blows my mind and sometimes I still wonder “Am I really doing this?
Kim: Do you feel that your confidence has grown with the spirit world?
Subendri: Yes, it really has. I think even I was sceptical.
Kim: Are you still sceptical?
Subendri: Yes, sometimes I second-guess myself, which is really weird.
Kim: How do you believe that knowing Spirit has changed your life?
Subendri: I’ve always had this sense of not belonging or fitting in. Ever since my connection with spirit has grown, I have a better sense of my own community and who I belong with. I have a tribe of people that I can connect with much easier now than I would have before. I don’t feel as alone as I had when I was growing up as a teenager and as a young adult.
My life has changed quite drastically.
