LANA: My overall PR prediction for 2024 is that we are in for quite a big year. Last year, in 2023, we had a big year energetically. We had a lot of retrograde energy, and at one point, there were a couple of days where we had seven planets retrograde.
This year, in 2024, we will experience some big energies to work with, particularly with the middle and outer planets heading retrograde.
Mercury retrograde is happening three times this year in Aries, Virgo, Leo and Sagittarius. Jupiter is moving into Gemini in May and will head retrograde from early October until February 2025. Pluto in Aquarius is heading retrograde in May and moving back into Capricorn in September. Saturn in Pisces will be retrograde between early July and mid-November. Uranus in Taurus will be retrograde in early September and Mars is heading retrograde at the end of the year. We’re also working with Neptune in Pisces also creating significant shifts globally.
But the major movement that’s happening this year is Jupiter, the planet of expansion, knowledge, wisdom, benevolence, moving into Gemini on the 26th of May. It has been in Taurus since 17th May 2023.

We always have the New and Full moons each month, and they always bring a bit of spice to the energy because the moon’s energy governs our tides, our emotions, our subconscious, our need to nurture or be nurtured, connection with menstruation, and childbirth. The new moon and the full moon are always significant every month and it depends on what you’re working with astrologically in your own chart, meaning sun, moon, or rising sign, as to those immediate effects.
Venus, the planet of love, relationships, attraction and finance will move through each of the signs every 3 to 4 weeks throughout the year, but it will be in Capricorn and Aquarius twice. At the beginning of the year, in Capricorn in January and in Aquarius in February. It will also be in Capricorn in November and Aquarius in December.
Mars the planet of goals, desires, action and aggression moves approximately every 6 weeks and throughout the year. Mars will be travelling through Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini and communication is going to be a big one as it lines up with Jupiter between July and September, Cancer and Mars the planet of goals, desires, action and aggression moves approximately every 6 weeks and throughout the year. I’ll start with Mercury retrograde and move on from there. Mercury is also the planet of thoughts, ideas, perceptions, communication, transport and legal matters. So, if you’re traveling during a Mercury retrograde, it’s always a good idea to check your itinerary more than once because things usually happen, like traffic jams, during a Mercury retrograde. We have Mercury retrograde happening three times this year.
With every Mercury retrograde, we have a two-tothree-week shadow phase where the planet stations and slows down its orbital rate. When Mercury is retrograde, it’s pulling away from the sun. It’s not going backward, but the energy can appear backward.
The first Mercury retrograde for the year is happening in the fire sign of Aries on the 3rd of April and heading direct on the 26th of April. Mercury is asking you to step back and look at yourself or identify the self. Aries energy is pioneering, cardinal, masculine, and the first Mercury retrograde in Aries is a time for self-reflection.
This energy can make you feel like you’re being blocked from moving forward or achieving goals, but it’s not that you’re being blocked; it’s that you’re being asked to step back and have another look at it, to check things rather than just impulsively going ahead and doing something. The first Mercury retrograde will end.
On the 6th of August, Mercury goes retrograde, moving back into Leo on the 15th of August. Mercury rules Gemini for thoughts and ideas and Virgo for putting those ideas into action. This triggers a global level examination of personal thoughts and ideas. While in Virgo, it will help you to analyse everything around work, service, health and wellbeing. While in Leo, it is associated with generosity, heart-centeredness and creativity, it prompts individuals to consider how global events impact them personally. It encourages everyone to get organised with and be creative with putting those ideas into action. It’s a time for individuals to focus on their needs amidst global changes.
Mercury will retrograde in Sagittarius from the 27th of November to the 17th of December, opposing Jupiter in Gemini. This prompts a deep dive into defining our truths and understanding our personal philosophies.
It’s a time to be cautious with finances and investments, with global financial fluctuations likely. Flexibility is key, and paying attention to details, such as reading the fine print, becomes crucial.
I’m going to start with Jupiter, and then I’ll move into Saturn and the outer planets because the outer planets are the ones that affect us all globally. They affect everyone on a mass scale.
For the collective, Jupiter moving into Gemini on the 26th of May is going to see a shift in how we learn, how we grow, our personal growth and development on a global level.
It’s also going to create a lot more communication, versatility, flexibility, and adaptability. Gemini energy is about communication on all levels, so technology is going to be a focus as well because it’s also a communication channel.
We’re going to see Jupiter teaming up with Mercury. Mercury is the ruler of Gemini, and so this is going to look at changing thought processes, or if not changing them, expanding on them. If you have a school of thought, you’ll be more inclined to reflect on it and say, “Okay, I’ve learned it all,” or look at that school of thought and say, “Okay, I’m ready for the next level of it.”
Communication is going to be important to focus on with Jupiter in Gemini because Gemini is a fast-moving energy – Mercury, a fast-moving planet, and Jupiter, is a slower planet that wants to take its time. That can create some internal conflict and it can also create conflict externally as well.
Jupiter heading retrograde in Gemini from the 10th of October until February 2025, slowing down communication and intellectual processes. This will prompt a big revision of what we’ve learned during this period, requiring us to reassess, review, and relearn.
We also have Saturn, the planet of authority and responsibility, in Pisces heading retrograde on the 1st of July. This placement is significant for responsibility, authority, career, finance, restriction, and constraint. It adds another layer to the dynamics at play this year.
Pisces energy is spiritual, soul-based, and influential, focusing on influencing the masses through societal institutions. This retrograde will trigger a re-evaluation of spiritual beliefs and illusions in society. People will need to tap into their soul alignment, questioning what works for them and what doesn’t. The Saturn retrograde in Pisces will prompt a collective examination of illusions and the creation of their own reality on a global scale.
We’re also in a Universal 8 yearius on the 23rd of January. This shift into Aquarius is significant in terms of humanitarian energy and global governance, politics, and the way we do things in the world.
Pluto moving into Aquarius is making us question our freedom and the freedom of others. With Pluto previously in Capricorn, we experienced the pandemic, and as Pluto moves into Aquarius, there will be a focus on global governance, politics, and world authorities.
There will be upheavals in the way we do things, particularly with technology and AI, which has changed the way we do everything. This year, I really see these changes happening strongly. My prediction is that people will start to come together and have a say in these matters.
Despite the desire for things to run smoothly in our lives, challenges will arise. On the 2nd of September, Pluto retrograding in Aquarius moves back into Capricorn. Capricorn energy, ruled by Saturn, emphasises responsibility and authority. As Pluto retrogrades into Capricorn, everything brought forth from January to September surfaces.
This shift may bring challenges or opportunities, depending on what individuals are working within their personal charts related to career, finance, and karmic matters. Karmic energy holds a crucial role in the prevailing cosmic structures. It’s inherently earthbound, focusing on various aspects, including trade in the business-to-business domain.

This isn’t the karmic energy of “what goes around comes around”; it’s about understanding what we have learned and what we are here to teach, clearing and creating space. Everyone would benefit from paying attention to these energies and how this is working for them, identifying what they want to clear, and creating space for change.
Understanding that this year has the potential to be particularly challenging, it’s crucial to roll with the energetic ebbs and flows. If you are resistant or unprepared, it may be a tough year. However, those embracing the changes will still face challenges but will feel more equipped to handle them.
For people to navigate this transformative year successfully, my advice is to invest in yourself—your time, energy, and money. Be mindful of who you associate with and protect your energy. This year may bring a lot of cutting ties, whether in relationships, work, or business.
